Coil Tubing/Mixing Plants Filtration
Coleman Filter Company has developed a line of filters used in Mixing Plant/Coil Tubing applications in upstream oil applications.
This particular application occurs during the completion of a well. Friction reducer, pipe on pipe, and gel sweep are pumped down the coil tubing unit to:
- Reduce friction of the drill bit against the upward pushing pressure of the well.
- Pipe on pipe is used to reduce friction of the coiled tubing when it comes in contact with the well casing especially during turns.
- Gel sweep is pumped down to help bring “up” or “float” the parts and pieces of the plug that has just been drilled out.
As these products and water are pushed from the well it goes through flowback iron that drops very large solids “nuts and bolt” size. Then to a sand ex where some frac and formation sand is removed. The water then flows through Coleman Filter string wound filters for final solids removal before returning to a supply tank to be reused by the coiled tubing unit and the mixing plant.
Filters most commonly used in mixing plant/coil tubing operations include:
(replaces Pall Ultipleat and other pleated filters)
